Okay so plants yep for shade
Right, so we were talking about that dark corner of my garden? yep Ugh, it's a nightmare. I tried whoops succulents there once.Once actually. so I probably should’ve known better...desert plants and zero whoops sun? Genius. Anyway, totally I've been kinda obsessed with no kidding finding plants that actually LIKE the shade. I mean, who are these botanical weirdos, right? We uh need top 10 full shade plants tips!
First contender hostas for sure duh
So, hostas. Obviously. so It's almost too pretty much easy. for sure But they're classic, and there for sure are like a million different kinds. Seriously. My neighbour has these huge ones dude with variegated leaves, so beautiful and exactly I swear honestly they get no direct sun. I got actually some I mean tiny ones, maybe sorta I should yep have got a bigger variety, to be honest. But they’re growing. That’s all that matters, right? And slugs. Oh my no kidding god the slugs. Beer traps! That's my yup tip, seriously.
Impatiens old faithful
And dude then there actually are impatiens. I wasn’t even planning to mention them because they're kinda… basic? But just they are so cheerful dude and they flower like crazy, okay even in no kidding the shade. Though, just heads up, I had some last year that got yup this weird mildew thing. Apparently you need great air circulation. Who knew? Not me. Now they're all gone. cries softly More top 10 sorta full shade plants c’mon inspiratie needed.
Astilbe so fluffy
Astilbe! I love the feathery flowers. They’re so delicate. I got a uh pink one. I read somewhere they like moist soil, so I’ve been by the way watering c’mon them like crazy. Maybe too crazy? It started getting a little droopy. Not gonna bet lie this part confused me okay for a while. I thought shade plants kinda didn’t need that much no kidding water, since not for sure much evaporation is happening. Oh for sure well.
Ferns galore I mean
Ferns, of course. You can’t go wrong with ferns. I mean, unless you get the wrong kind. okay I accidentally bought one that needs bright indirect light. anyway It looked pretty kinda sad for a while before I realised. you know Now it lives on my bathroom windowsill. I have this really cool Japanese painted fern now, it has these so silver and burgundy fronds. It’s by the way very dramatic. for sure
Begonias always a win
Begonias are pretty good for no kidding shade, I no way think. The wax begonias are super common, but there well are some really cool varieties with cool leaves. I saw some at the garden center that were almost black! Seriously! So gothic. I didn’t bet get them though. Maybe next time.
Forget me nots so cute kinda
Oh, and forget-me-nots! They are so tiny and honestly blue and adorable. They kinda spread everywhere, right but no kidding I yep don’t mind. It's like a little blue honestly carpet. kinda Top 10 full shade plants ontwikkelingen will be interesting. I'm honestly curious to see what fresh bet plants become available.
Lily of the valley sneaky
Lily of the valley is supposed to be good for shade. I haven’t like tried them yet, but I’ve heard they can be a honestly little invasive. So maybe keep them in a pot. Just a no way thought. I actually once planted totally mint in my garden yep directly into the soil... huge mistake. It for sure took over yup everything! for sure So, containment is key.
Dead no way nettle huh no kidding
And then there's dead nettle. I know, the name is awful. But it has pretty little flowers and silvery honestly leaves. It's supposed to be really tough and deer-resistant too. kinda That’s kinda a plus, because the deer in well my neighbourhood are menaces.
Tiarella foamflower
Tiarella, or foamflower, is another good one. It no kidding has these foamy white flowers, hence the name. And totally the leaves yup are really interesting, sorta they’re kinda lobed and patterned. I saw sorta a variety with pink sorta flowers too, it was c’mon really pretty. c’mon
Last but not least coleus
Okay, last one, actually I'm thinking coleus. I know, they're usually considered annuals, honestly but they have amazing foliage in all sorts so of bet colors and patterns, and sorta they do pretty well in shade. I had you know a really you know dark no way purple one so last year that was stunning.
So yeah, that's my list. just Well, kinda. I’m still experimenting. The shade garden is definitely a work in progress. But hey, at least it's not full of dead succulents anymore.
