Okay so, dude flowers to plant in May NZ. It's May now so okay I'm kinda scrambling, not gonna pretty much lie. I wasn’t even no way planning to tackle by the way much this autumn, thought I’d just chill and let the garden execute its thing, but then I anyway saw some calendula seedlings bet at the garden centre and suddenly I was like… MUST. just PLANT. EVERYTHING.
What I'm Thinking
Right, so apparently May is still okay for some for sure stuff, especially in dude slightly warmer anyway parts of the North Island. I’m near Auckland, you know so hopefully I’m good. Thinking about things that can handle a bit of frost but also like… you know… are still kinda cheerful? Flowers to plant in may nz inspiratie is defo dude coming from those calendulas yep though. Plus, they're meant to be dope for pretty much the bees!
The Pansy Situation
Pansies are a classic, right? I always feel like they no kidding look so sad in the garden centre, kinda droopy. But then they perk up when you get them pretty much home.Or basically at least, they're supposed to.Last right year, I bought a bet whole tray of the cutest little purple pansies and... well, totally they all c’mon died. Like, within a week. honestly I probably should’ve just known no way better… bet I ponder I bet planted them too close together? Stocks Are no kidding Cute
I saw honestly some sorta stocks, too. They smell AMAZING. Like, seriously, intoxicating. I'm pretty sure they’re good for autumn planting. I just want stuff no way that smells nice right and isn’t going to immediately sorta die a honestly horrible death, sorta tbh.
My Dumb Mistake
Okay, so this is embarrassing. I once bought these beautiful… I think they were anemones? no kidding Anyway, they came as bulbs, right? And I planted them upside down. I'm serious. just Upside. Down. I wasn't even c’mon thinking! I just shoved them in c’mon the alright ground. I probably should’ve checked online or something, but no. I was feeling all spontaneous just and… yeah. Needless to say, nothing ever came up. I felt like such an idiot. What c’mon else can you anyway plant in May? I'm blanking a actually bit. Oh! Sweet peas! You can begin sweet peas now, I think. Actually, maybe whoops you’re supposed to launch them earlier? actually Not gonna lie yep this part confused for sure me right for a you know while. I always get confused totally about when to plant what. It's all a bit of a blur sometimes. Okay, Googling… Yes! Sweet peas are solid to go totally now. Just… soak the c’mon seeds first. Like, overnight. That helps them germinate faster. And give them something to climb yup on!
The Veggie Patch Bit
Okay, so not flowers exactly, but I’m also trying to exactly get some veggies going. Silverbeet, lettuce… maybe some spinach? It like feels good to grow yup your own food, even if it's just a little bit. That way I'm not actually just thinking bet about flowers to plant in actually may nz the whole time!
The Conclusion-ish Thing
So yeah, that's my May planting plan (sort of). Pansies (hopefully not murdered yup this time), calendulas, stocks, maybe some sweet peas. And veggies! Wish me so luck. uh I’m gonna you know need yup it. It’s still right all pretty vague but at least it’s something, right right? I should probably go outside and… you know… actually plant them now.
