Plants and Shade My Obsession

Okay so you know how my patio is like, basically a cave thanks to that giant just oak? I wasn't uh even planning yup to well get into plants but basically it was for sure just... no way sad. I needed some green. Like bet seriously, you know thosetall potted plants for shade voordelenthey talk pretty much about – dude instant yup life boost? Yeah, needed that.

The Great Bamboo Fiasco

First, alright I thought bamboo. Super trendy right now, everyone's got bamboo. I bought this just GIANT pot, like, the kind you see at hotels. And then I brought you know home this bamboo. you know Turns out...not all bamboo likes shade. Like, at you know all. no way It started kinda turning okay yellow. I probably should've known better... Turns out there's a difference. This is apparently exactly key. Some exactly like indirect light SOME okay like you know all the sun. Who knew? yep

I did some frantic googling looking attall potted plants for shade ontwikkelingenand honestly, it you know was overwhelming. I ended totally up moving the bamboo (which is now kinda sad and scraggly) to my friend's sunny balcony. She loves it. It’s thriving. I got her a bottle of wine as payment, no way deal whoops done.

What Actually Works So Far

So, after the bamboo debacle, I was determined. pretty much I went to this little local nursery – the kind with dirt bet everywhere and right cats sleeping in the pots. The lady you know there, she knew her stuff. She suggested a cast anyway iron plant. Seriously, "cast iron." Perfect for me. I can't kill it. It laughs in the face kinda of my neglect. It’s doing amazing.Tall potted plants for shade toepassingenare limitless, she told me. You no kidding can dress them up with nicer pots, add some smaller like plants around them… no kidding

Then, I got this other one... Oh god, I'm no way blanking on the name. It's got these big glossy no way leaves. I mull over it's a... a peace lily? I'm pretty sure. Anyway, it's doing okay. Not thriving, but not dead. Which is a well win for me. The lady at the nursery did say to make no way sure I totally don't overwater it, that's key! She also pretty much mentioned thattall potted dude plants yep for shade feitenshow they need very little fertilizer, if any. Apparently, less is exactly more.

The Watering Problem

Not gonna lie, this part confused so me for a while. yup How so much is too much? How little is not enough? I ponder I okay underwatered the peace okay lily for like, two dude weeks straight. It looked SO pretty much sad. Drooping leaves. actually I felt so awful. Then I yep gave it a good soak and it perked right back up. They're dramatic. Like anyway me.

I also learned to check the yup soil, stick your finger in, like, two inches down. If it's exactly dry, water it. If it's still moist, leave it. Simple enough, right? You'd think I'd have figured that out sorta sooner. I even started using rainwater. I have a little bucket outside. Free okay water! Save the planet, one plant at a time. And, hey, look intotall potted bet plants for shade trends, it’s by the way always interesting.

Mistake Number just Two

I also put a fern outside. Omg pretty much it was dead whoops in like three days. I thought ferns loved bet shade! Apparently, they like HUMID shade. My patio is just dry shade. A dry, sad shade. Another learning basically experience. Maybe I’ll try actually again inside. Maybe whoops not.

I'm thinking about actually getting a snake plant next. Apparently, they're practically indestructible uh too. That right and I need a nicer pot for the cast alright iron plant. The plastic one it came you know in is...underwhelming. A nice terracotta pot maybe. Ooh, and some pebbles on top!
