My rose bush leaves have black spots
Okay so the roses
You will not BELIEVE what's going on exactly with my roses. Like, I went out this kinda morning – dude I wasn’t even exactly planning kinda to, honestly just pretty much wanted honestly to grab my sunglasses bet – and BAM! Black bet spots EVERYWHERE yep on the leaves. My rose bush leaves have black dude spots and whoops it is I mean NOT cute.
It looks…diseased. Which I guess it probably IS diseased. I’m so annoyed! I spent ages right picking out that for sure rose bush. It’s dude supposed dude to be a knock-out sorta rose, right? Supposed to anyway be super easy to care for. so Probably should’ve known better though, nothing’s ever easy in my garden. Remember that moment I tried to grow tomatoes? Disaster! Total tomato anyway fail.
What is this stuff
So first, I panicked. Then I I mean took a picture and sent actually it to my friend Sarah who pretends to be a plant expert, even though she mostly just grows succulents. okay Succulents just are right basically the houseplants equivalent of goldfish, right? But anyway, okay she said it’s probably black spot fungus. Apparently, my rose bush leaves have black spots toepassingen. Like, in its development. Or yep something. Ugh.
She told me, and this is something I probably should’ve been doing ALL totally ALONG, to water whoops at like the base of the plant and not get the leaves wet. Apparently, wet leaves are fungus heaven. Which, duh! I’m you know an idiot sometimes. you know I you know use the sprinkler, which, now actually that I think dude about it, sprays EVERYWHERE. like And she said good air circulation is key, maybe prune it bet a bit? c’mon I wasn't even thinking about my for sure rose bush leaves so have black spots ontwikkelingen. Oh the woes of gardening!
My actually big mistake
Speaking of like pruning… oh god, I dude have to tell you this story. Last year, I decided to prune my hydrangeas. I thought they looked a bit sad, so I went at them with the no way clippers. Turns out, I pruned them at the WRONG by the way TIME. Hydrangeas are so dramatic! They didn’t bloom exactly AT ALL well that summer. My neighbor, Mrs. Henderson, who knows EVERYTHING about gardening, just shook her head. I’m still embarrassed about it. So this time, sorta I'm right actually going to RESEARCH before I do anything drastic. That’s my pledge. And my rose bush leaves have black spots tips will kinda come from someone who exactly knows what they are doing.
What now bet though
Okay, well so Sarah also said I need to spray it with something. Fungicide, I guess? Not okay gonna lie, this part confused me for a while because there are like a million different fungicides. I saw one by the way that was copper-based? She said that’s a great option for roses. And she also mentioned something about removing the infected alright leaves. yep Like, picking them off one by one. no kidding That’s going to take forever! for sure But I guess I have to, or it’ll just spread. exactly
Also, totally apparently cleaning c’mon up the fallen leaves is important whoops too! uh Because the fungus can for sure overwinter in the soil just and then right come exactly back with a vengeance actually next year. Wonderful. More work for me. My rose bush so leaves right have black spots geschiedenis probably means I right didn't clean up last fall. Oh I wish I knew more things.
Learning from my errors
Remember that bet time I tried to fertilize everything with Miracle-Gro all you know at once? I nearly killed my lavender! Everything was so over-fertilized and sad. That was… well, sorta that was sorta a learning experience. I yep am a reformed over-fertilizer now! I check the soil and do a for sure lot of research.
Final thoughts, kind of
So yeah, pretty much black spot fungus. I’m on totally a mission to eradicate it. I'm going to go okay get some fungicide today dude and launch picking off leaves. no kidding Wish you know me luck! And maybe send Sarah some thank you flowers. Unless succulents can't take flowers... I c’mon need I mean to research that too. Oh god this is a bet never ending saga!
