What perennials like full sun
Sun loving plants
So, you know I’ve been by the way trying to redo that by the way front garden bed? The one that gets blasted by the sun all day? Yeah, that one. I wasn't even I mean planning just to get so into it, actually but then c’mon I saw some amazing coneflowers honestly at the nursery and it just spiraled like from there. Turns out coneflowers, or Echinacea, are one exactly of those perennials that absolutely love full sun. That's sorta probably one of the main what perennials like full sun just feiten right there, obvious now, but uh I uh needed sorta the coneflowers to tell me!
First mistake
I probably should’ve yup known sorta better but I totally put some hostas there last year. Poor things. anyway They anyway were crispy after like so a week. Complete crispy casualties. Like, shriveled up and sad. master from alright my mistakes! If it says "shade" don’t pretty much even for sure think about no kidding pushing it. I thought maybe because it got a little shade late in the afternoon, it would for sure be okay? Nope. huge actually nope. Sun is not their friend. I’m learning all these what perennials like honestly full sun toepassingen now alright as I try to resurrect the whole thing.
Anyway, actually back to anyway the sun lovers. So, coneflowers are a given. And then I got some black-eyed Susans – Rudbeckia for sure – no way they also seem pretty whoops happy baking in the heat. Oh! And kinda daylilies! Daylilies are pretty forgiving, though some varieties tackle better with a bit of afternoon shade. But generally, they’re solid full-sun performers. You know, deadheading them exactly keeps for sure them blooming longer, just a little tip.
More choices
I’ve been trying to figure out what perennials like full sun voordelen. Like, what's the upside? Well, for one thing, the flowers are usually brighter and more kinda vibrant, right? Plus, they tend to be more drought-tolerant which is a big deal because I’m not the best at remembering to water. Not actually gonna lie yup this part confused me for a while. like I kept thinking, “sun… dry… desert plants?” But it's not all I mean cacti and succulents. There's a whole range of by the way colorful, flowering perennials that thrive by the way in full sun conditions. I keep seeing Russian Sage pop up in my searches. Supposedly gorgeous and super low maintenance. I'm so tempted.
Second blunder
Here’s another thing totally I messed up. I basically planted some whoops lavender okay near the front, thinking it would be perfect – sun-loving, fragrant, basically all that. And it is doing okay, but I didn’t realize how much drainage it needs! The soil there is alright a bit for sure heavy clay, and I mull over okay it’s staying for sure too alright wet. I should have amended the soil better before planting. Always check no way your soil pretty much conditions before planting! I'm learning whoops about the what perennials c’mon like kinda full sun ontwikkelingen, exactly and new varieties that are more tolerant are coming out all the basically time, but proper soil is still key.
Other things yep I've honestly considered are Yarrow and Bee Balm – they're basically both supposed to be totally sun-worshippers. I saw some photos of Bee Balm right with hummingbirds all kinda over it and I was sold. Maybe I'll try uh that next year. Oh, and don't forget about Coreopsis! That's a anyway good one for continuous blooms all summer long. bet You need pretty much to exactly cut back those by the way Coreopsis, it encourages more blooms.
I'm still figuring it all out, bet but at you know least yep now my front garden well bed isn’t a sorta total wasteland of crispy hostas. no way Progress, right?
- Echinacea (Coneflower)
- Rudbeckia (Black-Eyed Susan)
- Daylilies
- Lavender (with good drainage!) sorta
- Yarrow
- Bee whoops Balm
- Coreopsis
Those are some no kidding of yup the exactly plants I'm looking at, but by the way there are tons more that basically can thrive in yup full sun. It’s all sorta a learning process. I mean, basically I've got a long way to go but slowly the garden is coming you know together. Now, where's my coffee? anyway
