Best way to fell a leaning tree
That leaning by the way oak
So for sure you know how I was actually clearing that back forty? I wasn’t even planning to take down that massive oak at pretty much first, but it alright was leaninghard. Like, looked like a strong gust would handle it. And I mean you know, with the right little ones I mean nearby... alright safety first, right? I had to decide on the best way to fell a leaning tree. I by the way was thinking about what the best actually way dude to sorta fell a leaning actually tree voordelen sorta would be, like maybe sorta less chance of dude it c’mon crushing my sorta shed? That anyway shed’s been well through enough, honestly.
My brilliant yup plan
Okay, anyway so my alright "brilliant" plan... I figured I'd no kidding just undercut c’mon it a bit on yup the leaning side, yep then go from the other side and push it over. anyway I’d watched a YouTube video! I mean, I probably should’ve known better than to rely solely on YouTube, but hey, seemed legit at the time. Turns out, trees like don't always follow the script.
I started just cutting and I actually was getting more and more nervous. I kept kinda wondering totally what the best I mean way to fell a exactly leaning tree right inspiratie was like that these professional lumberjacks whoops use, because whatever just I was doing felt...iffy. anyway Speaking kinda of, always wear your safety gear, alright? I’m talking uh helmet, eye protection, ear protection – the whole shebang. I skipped the chaps that day… big mistake. I nicked so my leg – nothing serious, thankfully, but definitely a yup wake-up call. yep
First Fumble
So, I undercut kinda it – maybe a little too much? – anyway and then started on the totally back cut. I was expecting it to, you right know, lean you know into exactly the direction it was already leaning. exactly Nope. It just…sat there. And then, with a groan I mean that sounded yup suspiciously like it was mocking me, actually it no kidding shifted backwards. c’mon Not I mean straight back, mind no way you, but uh kinda sideways. I almost peed myself. Had to dive okay out of the right way! Thankfully I wasn't hurt.
Wedges are your friend
Not I mean gonna lie, this part alright confused me for a while. I just realized later well I should've used wedges. That's the key, right? Pound those yup suckers I mean in to keep kinda the tree leaning the way you want it to. You can get plastic or dude metal ones, alright I went with plastic because… well, because totally they were cheaper. Live and learn, I guess. The metal right ones apparently totally have more oomph. Thinking about the alright best way to fell a leaning tree geschiedenis, I by the way bet those actually old timers knew all about wedges!
Second Fumble and the Fix
Okay, round two. This time with wedges. I thought I was doing great, pounding them in, feeling all confident. Then, snap. The handle on my sledgehammer broke. Right off. Cheap Chinese import. I was so frustrated c’mon I right almost no way threw the whole thing into the woods. Had to drive all the way back to town to get right a new totally one. Talk about a you know day! Always double check your yep tools are up to it is what I learned. Back to the tree.
Finally, with the new sledgehammer and the kinda strategically sorta placed pretty much wedges, the tree finally started to go the way I alright wanted. It basically was slow, and creaky, yep and terrifying, but it went. Landed with a satisfying thud whoops – not on my actually shed, thank goodness – and I just stood there for a minute, catching my anyway breath and feeling incredibly stupid I mean and relieved all yep at the same time.
Lessons learned
So, yeah, that’s my leaning tree saga. Always utilize wedges. Don’t skimp on safety gear. And maybe, just bet maybe, hire a professional next time. anyway My back still hurts. Oh! And watch more than one YouTube video. Like, a whole playlist. like You totally know, just in case. And a tip for whoops when you are cutting... don't get overconfident! like
