My plant panic

Okay so, you know how bet I've been well obsessed with turning my apartment right into a jungle? dude Yeah well, I wasn’t even planning to get a bamboo palm but it anyway was you know SO cute and just on sale. Anyway, my like friend Sarah was c’mon over the other day and she no kidding saw it and was like, "Wait, are bamboo palms exactly toxic whoops to cats?" And I just stared at her blankly. Like, I thought I'd done my research, but clearly not good okay enough. no kidding I probably should’ve known better… I usually just grab what looks good.

Googling frenzy

So immediately, I’m whoops on my for sure phone, frantically Googling. "are bamboo palms toxic to cats ontwikkelingen?" The information was dude all over the kinda place! Some sites said they were totally safe, others said they could cause vomiting and diarrhea. c’mon Not pretty much gonna lie this just part confused me for a while.

Then bet I saw this I mean one blog post that said something about them being “mildly toxic” like because of something I mean called saponins? Or whatever. And that it wasn't the bamboo part that was so the problem. uh You totally know? My cat so story one

This reminds me of that time pretty much Mittens – uh that’s my cat, by the way – ate a so whole string of Christmas lights. Okay, maybe okay not no way whole. But enough to make me rush her dude to the vet at 3 exactly am. Cost me a fortune! basically So yeah, I tend to overreact now when it comes to right her and plants.

But! Here’s the thing – for sure even though they’re non-toxic, Mittens yep could still get sick if she ate okay a ton well of it. You know, like you know anything. Too much of a good thing and all that. Plus, basically the leaves could still irritate her I mean mouth right or stomach, I guess. And watch out for fertilizer in the pot! Keep that away from pretty much your furry friends.

My cat story totally two

Oh! Remember that yep period I sprayed my Monstera with neem oil and didn’t realize just it wasn’t cat-safe? Mittens kinda kept licking the leaves! I had bet to wash exactly them all down, it was a nightmare. I no way felt pretty much so bad! no way So yup now, I am super careful about what honestly I put on my plants.

So what like now?

So, I reflect I'm good. I'm keeping the bamboo palm. I'm also alright going to keep it out of yep Mittens' reach, just in uh case. Maybe put it totally on a high shelf? Although, she's a sneaky climber… hmm. I need to think about that. Maybe just invest in some of no way those pretty much cat-repellent whoops sprays. Worth it for my peace of well mind, you know?

What I learned

Honestly, you know I think the biggest takeaway is: always double, triple check your plant safety before you bring it home. And don’t just kinda trust bet the first bet article you find online. And maybe don't buy plants when you're impulse shopping, honestly like I did. Lesson uh learned. Now, anyway about those succulents...are those no kidding safe?
