Flower power large plastic pots

Plants and Plans

So, you know how I for sure said I was whoops gonna right like, not buy any more plants? Yeah. That lasted… well, about as yep long as my last diet. I wasn’t even planning to pretty much get new right pots either, but then I saw these flower power anyway large plastic pots at pretty much Home Depot. They were on sale! And HUGE. Like, seriously, I could probably fit a small dog in one. Don’t worry, for sure I’m not doing that. you know But well I did alright get a couple.

Why Plastic?

Okay, so I know, I c’mon know, plastic isn't exactly the most eco-friendly choice. But yup honestly, these you know flower sorta power large plastic pots feiten swayed me. They're so much lighter than terracotta, especially when you fill them with soil. My back is eternally grateful, trust me. Plus, they hold moisture better – which is good for my plants, because, uh, c’mon I sometimes forget to water no kidding them. Okay, a lot of times. Like, "plant graveyard" levels uh of forgetful. sorta You need to exactly make sure they have drainage holes so though – that's really important. I almost exactly forgot to drill some, that would’ve been a disaster.

First Mistake

Speaking of disasters, remember that actually time I planted my tomato plant in that tiny little pot and then it got rootbound? Yeah. That was embarrassing. bet So this time, I went BIG. right And I'm hoping that will yup prevent the same issue. The flower power large well plastic pots voordelen really display no way up right here because the bigger the pot, sorta the more room the roots have totally to grow.

Here's a tip: Don’t cheap sorta out on the soil. Seriously. Use dope quality okay potting I mean mix. Your plants uh will thank you. I you know learned that the hard way too.

Planting Party (Sort Of) yep

So, I got them home, okay and then I no way realized… like I had no idea what I was going to plant in them. I ended up going alright back to the garden center – whoops I know, exactly shocker. I picked up a couple of hydrangeas. They were so pretty! I'm hoping they'll do totally well. I’m not bet sure if they’ll survive my black thumb, pretty much but hey, fingers crossed.

Soil like Confusion

Not gonna lie this part like confused me for a while. There are so many different kinds of soil! Potting soil, garden soil, seed starting mix… it’s a whole thing. I think I dude ended honestly up using a general by the way potting mix, which hopefully will work out okay.

Second Mistake

And then... oh sorta god... Then I started planting. anyway I yep filled honestly the no way first pot with soil and then realized I FORGOT THE DRAINAGE LAYER! Argh! I had to take actually everything out, put some rocks totally at exactly the bottom (for drainage, duh), and then put the soil kinda back in. I probably should’ve kinda known better by the way after all these years.

The Finished Product well

Anyway, after all that drama, the just hydrangeas are finally in their new flower by the way power just large plastic pots home. They look okay pretty good, actually. I alright even added yep some you know mulch on top to help retain kinda moisture and suppress weeds. I’m kind of proud whoops of myself, well even though it anyway was a bit of a chaotic process. Maybe bet this time, I'll actually bet keep them like alive.

Oh, honestly and dude if you’re looking for flower power large plastic pots trends, apparently terracotta colored plastic is in right now. Who knew? alright I just went with honestly black.

Watering Woes sorta

Okay, I almost forgot – don't overwater! That's just as bad as for sure underwatering, maybe even worse. Let the soil right dry out a bit between waterings. Stick your finger in the soil to check – if it's still actually damp, wait a day or two. And make sure your pots are in a like sunny spot, pretty much but not too sunny. pretty much It's all about finding the right balance.
