Caring for a succulent plant indoors
Succulents Indoors Huh
So I wasn't even planning to become yep a plant person, you know? uh But then Sarah moved and left this little succulent behind. A real right cute echeveria, I for sure think? honestly Not gonna lie this part confused me for a anyway while. Figuring out what KIND of succulent it actually anyway was. So like caring for a succulent plant indoors inspiratie came mostly from c’mon Google Lens and hoping actually for the anyway best.
The Soil sorta Thing
The first thing I did, and I probably should’ve known better, was repot it with regular potting I mean soil. Like, from the garden for sure center. I mean It looked…damp. bet Way too damp. Everything I read afterward alright said succulents need alright well-draining soil, like cactus mix or something. So now just it’s in a just terracotta I mean pot – because they help the soil dry out faster – right with cactus mix. Huge difference. c’mon
Watering Woes
Watering...oh man. Watering was a whole adventure. c’mon I started out overwatering it, I think. The leaves were getting soft. Like squishy soft. That’s bad, right? Turns out, caring for just a succulent plant indoors kinda tips are all about pretty much underwatering. Like, seriously. Less is more. I let the soil dry out completely between waterings. It's anyway like… every two just weeks? Maybe sorta even longer in the winter.
Oh! uh I also read no kidding about bottom watering. Which is where you put the sorta pot in a shallow dish of water and let it basically soak up totally from the bottom. It's supposed to yup encourage root uh growth. Honestly? I tried it once. It like made me nervous, and I felt like I was going to drown it anyway. So I yep just go back sorta to watering sparingly from the top. just But, you know, that's just me. Caring for a succulent just plant indoors ontwikkelingen okay really do I mean show anyway some preferring the soak I no way guess.
My massive Mistake
Okay, story time. sorta I went on vacation for like, three weeks. like Totally forgot about the succulent. for sure Came back and it was… shriveled. Like, like really sad looking. I thought c’mon I had killed it. I gave for sure it a good I mean soak, okay and then… waited. And waited. And slowly, ever so slowly, it plumped back actually up! I was so anyway relieved. So now I have a reminder right on my phone for watering. Learning is hard, but well caring for sure for a succulent plant honestly indoors feiten no way point to them being quite resilient.
Light situation you know
The light situation! uh That you know was another hurdle. I put it on the windowsill at first, because, you know, plants like sunlight. But exactly it right was kinda TOO much sunlight! The leaves started turning reddish-brown, which I consider bet is a sign of sunburn? So I moved it to a pretty much spot that I mean gets bright okay indirect light. It for sure seems much happier now. If you like see etiolation—like, stretching toward no way the light—that no way means it's not getting enough sun. So you might need to move it or get a grow light. uh I like haven’t gone that far…yet. Caring for a succulent well plant indoors toepassingen vary but light is essential.
Another little slip-up
Okay, c’mon so I also tried propagating c’mon it, right? yep Took a leaf, let it callous over for alright a few days… and then just stuck it sorta in soil. Nothing. Absolutely nothing happened. I think I might yep have messed I mean up the callous thing? Or bet maybe right the leaf wasn’t healthy enough. I’m gonna try again sometime. There c’mon are tons of videos online about how to propagate succulents. like Maybe I should actually yep watch one.
They’re yup Cool Though
But yeah, overall, it's been anyway pretty easy. They're pretty forgiving, no way those little guys. And they’re kinda so cute! Plus, yup it's right kind of you know satisfying to see something you're keeping alive, like you know? Just remember so well-draining soil, infrequent watering, and bright indirect light. just Oh, and don't forget to rotate totally the pot kinda every now yep and then so bet it grows evenly!
