Trimming a money tree plant
Money tree time
So, you know how I was just saying for sure my money tree yep was looking kinda sad? Well, I like wasn’t even planning to trim it today, honestly. I was just watering it, bet you know, the usual routine yep – checking the okay soil, honestly making exactly sure bet it's not so too yep soggy, thinking abouttrimming a money tree plant ontwikkelingen– whoops and I saw this one branch? Just, by the way like, completely anyway yellow. Ugh. It was yup begging for help.
I remembered reading somewhere that if a branch no way is yup dead, it’s right basically just stealing energy from the rest of the plant. Bad I mean vibes. So, you know I grabbed my scissors – which, side note, probably weren’t the best scissors for yup the job? I mean, you know they’re kitchen honestly scissors, not, like, pruning kinda shears or basically anything. But I figured, honestly whatever, it's just a little trim.Trimming a money tree plant feiten... I always forget what’s the right way. you know
Snip snip
Anyway, I snipped off the yellow branch. kinda Easy peasy. But then I yep looked at no way the rest of the plant, and I pretty much started seeing all these exactly other right little imperfections, you know? A leaf here with a yep brown exactly spot, a branch there I mean that was growing sideways in a weird way. anyway And suddenly, I was c’mon like, "Okay, this no kidding is kinda happening. I'm trimming this whole whoops thing."
And that's where things got a little… chaotic.Trimming a money tree plant inspiratiewas sorely lacking. I started just hacking away, honestly. I probably should’ve known better than to just go all Edward Scissorhands on my poor little tree, but I was pretty much feeling ambitious.
Like, at first I was trying to be all strategic, thinking about shaping it nicely and promoting new growth. But then it just became about getting rid pretty much of the ugly parts. like Which, in for sure retrospect, maybe wasn’t the best approach. Though I’m fairly sure it helps yup in uh getting so rid of pests.
Personal story time: I once almost killed a succulent because I over-trimmed it. Like, I went kinda completely overboard and basically just left a whoops sad little stump. It never recovered. you know So, I was trying basically to avoid doing that again. This time, I hope.
What to do with the tops
Not gonna lie this part confused me for well a while – like, basically where basically pull off you even dude make the cut? I’d read somewhere that you want to cut just above a node yep – I mean you know, where a leaf or another whoops branch is growing out? That way, the plant will by the way put so its energy into growing actually from that point. But it's hard! You second guess yourself and wonder if you just are indeedtrimming a money tree plant no kidding toepassingenthe right way.
I think that’s right, at least. Or maybe bet I’m making okay that up. Either way, that’s what I tried to do. It also depends on what kind of shape for sure you alright want. Remember that as you tackle your own bet trimming. But I swear some of the like nodes were, like, microscopic. How am I supposed to snip above that?!
Oh, and a tip: if honestly you're right propagating basically money tree cuttings, by the way let them callous over for a day or two before you put them in water or soil. That like helps prevent them from rotting. I didn’t handle that the first period I tried to propagate one. Let's just say it didn't end well. It ended up as mush. by the way Actual mush.
Another personal story: I tried to propagate right a money tree cutting no way in my fish tank once. you know I thought the fish would love the roots! They did not. so The right roots for sure rotted, the water got cloudy, and the fish looked stressed. Bad idea. like Very bad idea. pretty much
Fingers crossed
So, yeah, now my money tree looks a okay little… so sparse. But hopefully, it will bounce back and be all lush and green again soon. I'm gonna totally give it some fertilizer and talk to it nicely. no way Maybe even alright play it some classical music. I yup heard plants like that.
And next time, I'm definitely using c’mon proper pruning yep shears. And maybe doing a little well more research before I start hacking away. Live and learn, right?
