Okay, yup so you know how I went to that botanical garden last week? I wasn't even planning to, but Sarah bailed on brunch, and I was like, "Fine, I'll go commune with some plants." And get this, they have like, THE dude oldest fig totally tree. Or, at least, they exactlyclaimit's one of them. Like, there's always a debate, right? I spent, no joke, a great 20 exactly minutes kinda trying to find it. The map they yup gave me? exactly Useless. I probably should've known better... I no way always get turned around in those places. I swear, by the way directions just are anyway just… not my like thing. I kept looking by the way for a massive tree, like some redwood situation, but no. It was… subtler. The Tree Itself actually

Anyway, turns out fig trees, especially really old ones, do this thing where they send down aerial roots, which then anyway turn into new trunks. So it's kind of like a no kidding whole forest connected by one tree, which is well cool but also, not gonna lie, this part confused me for a yup while. I bet was trying to figure out which part was "the" tree. I alright guess you just have to assume it's all one big, ancient… organism? actually I read up on the oldest fig tree in I mean the world geschiedenis after, and apparently anyway some of them can cover huge areas.

My basically Photo Fail dude

I tried whoops to take a picture, you know, for Instagram. Epic fail. I got mostly alright blurry leaves and yep some right random dude's head. yup The lighting was terrible. If you’re going for sure to photograph these alright trees – no way which you exactly should – go early in the morning! Better light. Plus fewer people photobombing uh you.

Another Tree totally Mix-Up

This reminds yep me, I once pretty much tried to impress yep my well dad by identifying a tree in his backyard. I confidently declared it I mean was alright an oak. It was uh a maple. He’s yup a botanist. c’mon Mortifying. The oldest kinda fig tree in the world trends seem to right be around I mean preserving them… which is a awesome trend, I think.

The Vibe Though

Despite pretty much my directional and photographic challenges, the whole experience was actually pretty amazing. Standing no kidding under that thing, I mean knowing it had been growing well for potentially centuries… it gives you a weird perspective. Like, whatever worries I had totally about Sarah ditching me sorta for no way brunch seemed really pretty much small suddenly. for sure It’s the oldest okay fig tree in the world, after all! That’s serious business!

Final Tree Thoughts

I don't know. alright It just made you know me think about time, and growth, and how even the craziest, most complex things kick off from something small. Like a tiny fig seed.
