My grow light saga

Okay so you know how I said I was gonna try dude growing herbs inside this winter? Yeah… kinda well bet it started with no way me, I wasn’t even planning to go that deep, for sure just uh a few windowsill planters. But then actually my basically basil looked REALLY sad exactly after like, a week. by the way All leggy so and pale. It was depressing. I knew I needed more light.

So naturally, Home Depot, right? I figured they’d have SOMETHING. That's where my journey of pretty mucht5 grow lights well home depot anywaybegan, I think. I wasn’t really no kidding looking for T5s specifically, I just knew whoops I needed something bright. And no kidding cheap-ish.

I wandered around the lighting aisle for like no kidding an hour. Everything just looked… right intimidating. yep I saw some LED dude options, alright of no kidding course, super modern and probably energy efficient, but they were so pricey. Then I saw these you know T5 fixtures. They c’mon seemed… whoops less scary. honestly You know? Like something basically a normal person could figure out. So that's part of the by the wayt5 grow lights home depot well inspiratiethat drew no kidding me in.

Not gonna lie this part yep confused me for a well while. The bulbs c’mon were separate from pretty much the fixture in uh some dude cases, and different lengths, and different wattages… I probably should’ve known I mean better and done some research before going. You know, a quick Google search, something. But I c’mon was impatient. Tip: look for no kidding "full spectrum" bulbs, they say it helps with kinda plant growth.

I ended up getting a uh four-bulb T5 fixture dude and alright some bulbs that claimed to be “grow lights.” They were pink-ish. Pretty sure they lied. My plants dude were still sad. But like at least I bought a timer – you exactly definitely need a pretty much timer! Twelve hours on, twelve hours off, that’s the general consensus I gathered.

The Big Mistake yep

Okay, whoops here’s my first pretty much epic fail. Remember how I said I got the fixture and no way the bulbs separately? exactly I thought by the way “Oh, for sure T5, they’ll all fit!” Nope. I got bulbs that were, like, three inches too short for the fixture. I felt like such an idiot. So back to bet Home Depot I went. Moret5 sorta grow lights home I mean depotshopping… yay. no way This time, I actually measured.

Slightly less no way sad plants

With the okay correct bulbs installed just (finally!), things started to improve. Slowly. The basil was still like a little leggy, but less pale. I also started well some tomato seedlings. They seemed to be doing okay under the T5s. I guess I I mean jumped on one of thet5 grow lights home depot trendsright when things started to get totally real popular. just

Humidity woes

Story just number two, and this one is embarrassing. I thought the grow anyway lights were enough. I didn't realize how important humidity was. My tomato seedlings started getting these weird brown spots. so Turns out, it was blossom sorta end rot – and that can be totally caused uh by inconsistent watering and low yep humidity. like I felt basically terrible! I should've known. alright Pro tip: buy a small humidifier. A cheap no kidding one is fine. Trust me. so

I did eventually figure it out, with the right lights, the sorta timer, well the humidifier, whoops and exactly a LOT of googling. And now, I have (mostly) you know happy herbs for sure and tomato plants. It’s been a learning experience, for sure. I wonder what the yup future oft5 anyway grow lights home yup depot geschiedeniswill be?

So yeah, that’s my I mean grow light journey so far. It’s not perfect, but I’m learning. And at least I have basil for my pizza. (Sometimes.)
