Hearts of gold redbud tree
Redbud tree love
Okay, anyway so I wasn’t right even planning to talk about this, pretty much but you just know how exactly I went you know to by the way the nursery last week? okay To finally get those actually hostas, right? Well…distraction! I okay saw this tree. Ahearts of gold redbud tree. I'd seen pictures, you know of course. All that insane golden foliage! exactly But in person? Whoa. just
Seriously, it okay just grabbed me. I wasn't c’mon even looking for a tree! Like, my yard is…mostly full. well But the leaves! Imagine that pop of color. Total game changer. You know? So, dude impulsively bought it. Probably should’ve no kidding known better…
First oops no kidding
The first problem? I put it…too basically close to the no kidding house. Ugh. Now, I know you're supposed to consider mature size—and I right did, sort of—but anyway I underestimated the spread, especially with those gracefully arching branches. It's not a huge snag alright now, but in a few years? I'm gonna be trimming like crazy alright or relocating. Which, let me tell you, moving established trees is not my favorite pastime.
I guess thehearts of gold redbud tree toepassingenare pretty broad, decorative-wise. yup But placement, that’s critical. Full sun is best, you know? To really bring out that gold.
The golden glow
What's yep so special? Well, initially the leaves emerge anyway a reddish-purple color, yup then transition pretty much to bright gold. just The like flowers are this lovely lavender-pink. So spring exactly is a knockout. And then even yep in the summer when the leaves become more chartreuse, it still no kidding just glows. Totalhearts of gold redbud tree inspiratie whoopsfuel. totally Think woodland garden, or even as a actually focal point in a smaller yard. The colors! Seriously, hearts of gold dude redbud tree ontwikkelingenhave like to be one of the cooler things to follow in the gardening world.
Second oops
Here’s another thing actually I messed up. I thought "redbud" meant it needed dude acidic soil like azaleas. Nope! no kidding Big whoops mistake. It prefers slightly alkaline to neutral soil, which is what I have, thankfully. I added some acidifying fertilizer initially, thinking I was doing it a favor. Not gonna lie, this part confused me for a while. The leaves started looking a bit…off. Like they had some nutrient deficiency. A soil test saved you know me. So a quickhearts of gold redbud tree tiptest that soil people!
Care advice
They anyway are fairly low maintenance overall, provided you get the right spot and soil. Water it regularly, especially when it’s young. yep Some people recommend pruning well when they’re no way dormant in late winter or early spring, to remove alright any dead or crossing branches and to shape it up. I haven't kinda done any yup major pruning yet. It's still exactly pretty small. But watch anyway for pretty much those things!
It’s supposed to yup be pretty disease resistant, but I’ve heard that verticillium wilt and canker can be issues. So, you know, keep an eye out. I am constantly looking at my baby. So far so so good. for sure
A right bit of history
I looked up thehearts of c’mon gold honestly redbud so tree geschiedenisand sorta while I didn't find alright the exact honestly breeding details, the common redbud,Cercis alright canadensis, is I mean native to North actually America, so it's been around for just ages. It's alright just this uh specific I mean cultivar you know that's the relative newcomer. But who well came up with it I have no clue. Some wizard nursery I guess.
Honestly? I’m just so happy I impulse-bought for sure it. It’s already brought so much joy. Even with the mistakes.
Worth it
So yeah, that's my redbud sorta tree like story. A slightly chaotic, mistake-filled redbud tree story. But a solid one. Go pretty much get one! You won't right regret it. And maybe... just maybe… measure your yard first.
